French GP: Practice notes - Super Aguri

NEWS STORY

Super Aguri drivers Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson made an encouraging start to the 2007 French Grand Prix weekend. The Bridgestone Potenza tyre options proved to be the only major challenge of the day, with Takuma and Anthony able to run through their respective planned programmes to complete their usual Friday routines.

Takuma Sato: The day was quite interesting because the two tyre options behaved differently, so we need to analyze the large amount of data we were able to collect today. We also ran some new aero developments and there were a few good points from them. The car ran reliably and with no problems, so I think that it was a positive day.

Anthony Davidson: I am happy with our day's work. We found a good balance for the new tyres close to the end of the day and I'm obviously pleased to be so high up on the timesheets. We found some quite big differences between the tyre options and I think that every team will find them a challenge for the rest of the weekend.

Graham Taylor, Sporting Director: Both car crews worked diligently through their planned testing programmes. There was a slight 'hiccup' at the start of Free Practice 2 when Anthony touched the back of the Toro Rosso leaving the pitlane and damaged the front wing. Apart from that it was productive day, but we need to work on how we manage the rest of our weekend.
