Though there was never any serious doubt, Robert Kubica has been officially cleared to contest this weekend's French Grand Prix.

The Pole, who escaped virtually unscathed from a horrific crash in the Canadian Grand Prix, was advised not to participate in the United States Grand Prix just one week later, following an examination by the FIA's medial delegate Gary Hartstein and the Indianapolis Motor speedway's medical examiner Geoff Billows.

Following another examination today, the 22-year-old had been passed fit for this weekend's event, much to his obvious relief.

"I'm 100 percent fit," the BMW driver told reporters. "I'm looking forward to this race and happy that I missed only Indianapolis."
