Red faces all round this morning when Lewis Hamilton hit the barriers at a special promotional event in London.

The World Championship leader was giving a demonstration in the kart auctioned on Ebay earlier this week, when he made a slight mistake and hit the plastic barriers marking out the temporary track.

"It's a bit bent on the back here," the youngster admitted to the delight of those watching.

The kart was sold for £42,000 to an anonymous bidder from northern Ireland in aid of Tommys, the baby charity.
