No extension to Silverstone test

As might have been expected - this is Britain after all! - rain has hit the first day of testing at Silverstone, where nine teams began a three-day programme today.

However, unlike previous tests which have been affected by rain this year, the Silverstone test will not be extended by an extra day.

Sadly, further rainfall is expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, Honda and Super Aguri appear to have made the right decision by heading to Jerez in southern Spain. Although neither team has a serious benchmark against which it can measure its progress, conditions at the Spanish track are ideal.

Conditions are ideal at Paul Ricard also, where the GP2 teams are in action ahead of the Magny-Cours round of the series later this month.
