We have a winner!

NEWS STORY

Congratulations to Thomas Strittmatter from Fairview, Oregon in the USA, who (appropriately) wins our United States Grand Prix competition.

Of the several thousand entries, Thomas was the only reader to correctly predict that Nick Heidfeld would be classified 18th in the official results published by the FIA.

"Talk about pulling one out of your Ass!" said Thomas, on hearing the news that he'd won. "I felt bad when he dropped out, but I've been thinking since yesterday that the number of people that would have picked him finishing so low would have to be pretty slim."

Though Thomas was the only entrant to predict that Nick would be classified 18th, there were six readers who predicted 19th, while just one said 17th.

Though it was bad news for Nick and BMW, that hydraulics failure on the 56th lap of Sunday's race means that Thomas wins a highly collectable 1:4 Scale BMW Sauber F106 Steering Wheel supplied by our good friends at Amalgam who have licences for all the teams in one form or another.

As previously reported on Pitpass, Amalgam has announced the start of an exciting co-operation with McLaren Racing Limited commencing with a superb series of 1:8th scale models of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-22A in small Limited Editions. These, together with the 2007 Ferrari will be available next month, while the Red Bull and Toro Rosso cars are available now, along with full size steering wheels for both.
