Speaking twenty-four hours after the Canadian Grand Prix in which he struggled to finish seventh, World Champion Fernando Alonso has appeared to give the first sign that he is feeling a little disillusioned with his position within the Woking team.

Speaking to Spain's Cadena Ser radio, the two-time World Champion appears to hint that teammate Lewis Hamilton is getting preferential treatment.

"From the first moment I wasn't comfortable with everything," Alonso admitted. "It's an English team, with an English teammate. You know that all of the help goes his way.

"I've understood that, I'm not moaning about it." he added.

There has been speculation, mainly within the British media that all is not well at Woking, however, this could be similar spin, albeit with a Spanish twist.

Alonso said he remains confident that he will be fighting for the title at the end of the season.

"I'm relaxed," said the Spaniard "I'm good, though I know there is some impatience for the way I arrived and how I am expected to dominate. I'm where I want to be and I have clear options for winning the title, which is what we want."

Like the British media, Cadena Ser radio saw the opportunity to stir things up a little, reading out some of the headlines that appeared in the UK press following Hamilton's win.

"I'm indifferent to all that," said the World Champion. "These are the same journalists that if the safety car had come out on lap 23 instead of lap 24, when Lewis didn't have enough fuel for another lap, would not have been in a position to say anything.

"The Spanish press has more respect than the British press," he added.
