Speaking at the launch of the Red Bull RB3, his first car for another constructor after almost ten years with McLaren, during which time he racked up a couple more titles to add to those previously won with Williams, Adrian Newey (right) predicted a return to form for the Woking outfit, which last season, for the first time since 1996, failed to win a single race.

"They're a tough team," he told reporters in Barcelona. "And in Fernando they have perhaps the most proven driver at the moment given Michael's retirement.

"Probably some of the things that hindered them last year, the direction that tyre development took the way that the engine rules were, have now fallen into their hands," he added. "So I would imagine that they will be very competitive this year."
