There can be little doubt that Ferrari will be glad to heading away from Vallelunga this evening, having endured a troubled four-day test at the Rome track.

After heavy rain, and even hail, on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather eased up a little today, allowing the Maranello outfit to continue with its preparations for the new season.

However, with the track still damp, Felipe Massa had an off in the opening minutes of the session, causing extensive damage to his F2007. Nonetheless, thanks to some sterling work by the Ferrari mechanics the Brazilian was back track this afternoon, however, a technical problem brought his day to an early end.

Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen continued to familiarise himself with the 2006 car, the Finn posting the fastest time of the day.

From next Tuesday, the Italian team is one of several in action at Valencia.
