Jenson Button will miss this weeks test at Jerez, the final test of 2006, and the forthcoming Race of Champions, as he continues to recover from a karting injury sustained during his winter training programme.
The Honda driver, who last night attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, cracked two ribs, and consequently missed the recent F1 tests at Barcelona and Jerez.
Rather than risk further aggravating the injury, Button will now watch from the sidelines until testing resumes in January.
The injury - thought to be two hairline fractures - means that Button has not yet tested with the new Bridgestone tyres his team will be running next season.
