World Series by Renault runner-up Andy Soucek will test with Carlin DPR at the final GP2 test of the year in Valencia this week. The young Spaniard, who was a front runner in the competitive one make series all season, also won the 2005 Spanish F3 championship.
Soucek established himself as one to watch in the 2006 World Series by Renault championship, after a fantastic season saw the 21 year-old finish a close second in the driver's championship. Challenging for the title right up to the season finale, Soucek achieved five podium finishes over the course of the year to finish just four points from eventual champion Alx Danielsson.
"Having seen Andy race first hand in World Series this year, it is obvious that he is incredibly talented and is ready to make the jump into a higher formula", said Trevor Carlin. "We're delighted to be able to offer him the opportunity to test with the team and look forward to working with him on Friday."
