The DAMS GP2 Team has announced that Kazuki Nakajima has been appointed as one of its official drivers for the 2007 GP2 season. Kazuki, twenty one years old, is the son of Satoru Nakajima, former Formula 1 driver. He will be Nicolas Lapierre’s team mate.

Jean-Paul Driot, DAMS GP2 Team owner: "I am very proud of Toyota’s confidence with our team for the second year of our collaboration. Kazuki Nakajima seems to hold all qualities of a great racing driver: intelligence, speed and determination. His association with Nicolas Lapierre should give us a great chance of success for the 2007 Championship and we await impatiently the first race of the season."

Kazuki Nakajima: "I am very pleased to be driving for DAMS. The French team has a big experience in motorsport. The transition from F3 car to GP2 may not be easy for me, but, thanks to the support of the team, I am confident I will learn quickly. It will be my second year racing in Europe and for sure much easier for me than the first one, even though I will have to challenge new tracks again in GP2."

Yoshinori Arimatsu, Manager TDP program - Toyota Motorsport GmbH: "It will be my great pleasure to continue our partnership with DAMS for Toyota Young Drivers Program. We have witnessed that Kazuki Nakajima has already matured with the team over the winter testing, and I believe both our companies can benefit from our earlier start for the forth coming 2007 GP2 season."

Earlier this week, WilliamsF1 announced that Nakajima will be one of its test drivers in 2007.
