Interlagos winner Felipe Massa has warned his new teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, not to expect any favours next season, the Brazilian declaring that though he was willing to play support to Michael Schumacher, he is fully prepared to battle the Finn all the way.

"Up until now I have helped my team by filling the holes," he told Gazzetta dello Sport, but things have changed. Next year I don't think I will be obliged to let Kimi pass me. He is a great driver but is joining a new team. It will be up to him to win them over."

Massa, the first Brazilian to win his home race since Ayrton Senna in 1993, admitted that he expects a "great, but fair battle" next season.
