A1 Team Malaysia was the fastest team on the track in the Feature race at the season opening A1GP World Cup of Motorsport event in Zandvoort, and will be looking to build on this at the next round, aiming to bring home a points finish in Brno, Czech Republic on Sunday.

The Brno event, hot on the heels of the Zandvoort weekend, will continue to showcase some of the most exciting motor racing on offer to fans.

Alex Yoong and A1 Team Malaysia aim to be in the thick of the action at the Czech track. He says, "We're putting behind us the disappointment of not scoring points in the opening weekend of A1GP, and intend to turn this around. Our fastest lap in the race last weekend proved that we have a competitive car, so we need to use this advantage wisely in the races. Once again we'll be on the back foot because Team Malaysia are not able to take part in the rookie session, but we've completed a Feature race distance, so now have more data to work with for our race preparations."

Jack Cunningham, Chief Executive, A1 Team Malaysia, is confident that the team will make progress this weekend, saying, "The pace we showed by getting 'fastest lap' last weekend shows we have potential and this knowledge gives us a reasonable level of confidence to be positive about our prospects for Brno. But I don't think it will be easy, particularly with the quality of the competition. There's now a field of very talented drivers in A1GP along with Alex, so the teams are very close. This results in a great motor racing spectacle, and we just need to be in the thick of this, challenging for a strong finish. We didn't really find the right setup for the car last weekend before qualifying and didnt qualify where we need to be to have a real chance of points or podium. Our focus is to improve substantially on that."
