The Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA), which was due to vote for a new board last weekend, has opted to postpone the election until the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

It is widely thought that the decision to postpone the vote could be linked with the fact that Michael Schumacher is scheduled to announce his plans for the future, namely whether he will continue racing in 2007, at Monza.

Speaking in Istanbul, Schumacher was unable to give a precise reason for the postponement of the vote. "We postponed it to a later time in the season, because that's what we thought, without specific reasons," he said.
