With four hours to go before the Hungarian Grand Prix, it's raining.

As the GP2 field heads away on the opening lap it is led by the safety car, such are the conditions.

Following the various penalties, the rain, should it continue, can only add to the melodrama this afternoon.

As far as the GP2 race is concerned, the safety car pulled off at the end of the second lap. However, in the laps that followed several cars went off in the difficult conditions, the first corner, in particular, claiming many victims. With ten laps remaining, it began raining again.

Negrao, Filipi, Piccione, Fauzy, Carroll and Lapierre were among the 'victims' in a race which saw 15 finishers.

Nelson Piquet took a superb victory, claiming maximum points, while Lewis Hamilton, starting from tenth on the grid, finished second.
