Jean Todt has denied any talks with Red Bull driver David Coulthard, other than the Scot asking if he could test a road car at Maranello.

Last week, at a time when several drivers, including Juan Pablo Montoya are known to be eyeing the Scot's seat at Red Bull, Coulthard 'revealed' that he had been in talks with Ferrari, repeating the claim at Thursday's press conference.

"We never had any contact with David Coulthard, never," said Todt at yesterday's post race press debrief. "That's the only thing I can comment.

"Maybe it's not accurate," he added, after a pause. "I spoke with him last year, at the end of the season, and I think he came and tested a road car. He asked me if he could test a road car at Fiorano. That was the last contact I had with him. That was for the Race of Champions."

Last week, Pitpass suggested that Coulthard's comments were most likely part of a ploy to urge Red Bull into action and re-sign him. Looks like Pitpass might have been right.
