Red Bull and WilliamsF1 were the sole runners at Valencia today, with David Coulthard on duty for the Austrian owned team, and Narain Karthikeyan making his 2006 debut.

Coulthard was the pace setter, the Scot posting a best time of 1:12.917 on his way to completing 82 laps of the Spanish track.

Meanwhile, Karthikeyan got his first taste of the WilliamsF1 FW28.

"Today Narain had his first run in the FW28, after several months out of an F1 car, in dry, but windy, conditions," said WilliamsF1 test team manager, Mike Condliffe. "He carried out some initial aero tests as well as putting some additional mileage on revised mechanical parts as well as the engine in preparation for Melbourne."

Tomorrow, Alex Wurz will take over testing duties.
