Hot on the news of Prodrive's plans for a new factory, which could be used as the HQ for a potential F1 team, Pitpass has learned of another F1 project which could soon be announced.

In anticipation of the 'manufacturer commitment window' later this month, a secret consortium has already applied for planning permission for a state-of-the-art factory, though its refused to give further details as to its location.

Pitpass has seen the plans for the factory and a working model, both of which clearly demonstrate the consortium's total commitment to F1.

With Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone keen to see new teams enter F1 - to the extent that the $48m bond has been scrapped - the consortium is confident that it will be able to commit to the 2008 championship, and is already contacting the company that built the 'replica' of Phil Hill's World Championship winning 246 Sharknose Ferrari for Chris Rea in an attempt to see if the blueprints are available.

Should that fail, the consortium will approach Amalgam, in the hope that the British company is willing to take on slightly bigger jobs.

Either way, we're convinced
