A1 Team Switzerland heads to Estoril this weekend for the third round of the brand new A1 Grand Prix series. Team principal Max Welti is confident after the team's strong results in the last Grand Prix at Lausitz.

The race at Estoril is the third of an historic season that will run from September to April and visit five continents North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

A1 Team Switzerland's driver Neel Jani will arrive at the circuit today. His team is now fourth in the championship as a result of his strong drive to second place in the 18-lap sprint race at Lausitz. Jani was in with a chance of winning the feature race until a problem changing tyres during his pit stop dropped him to fifth.

Max Welti, team principal, A1 Team Switzerland commented: "I'm proud and excited that Neel Jani, Switzerland's fastest driver will drive for the 'Toro Rosso' F1 team in 2006. He will continue to represent our country at the third A1 race this weekend. We are feeling very confident after Neel's last race result. The team knows Estoril well and we should be competitive again. We need to keep up the momentum we have built up and finish consistently on the podium. We're confident that our technical partners in the A1 organisation
have fixed the wheel nut problem we had in Lausitz and that we can have a trouble-free, competitive weekend."

21-year-old Neel Jani added, "I can't wait for the race in Portugal as I'm feeling very confident after the weekend in Lausitz. I'm looking forward to changing the misfortune we had last race into a great result."
