Your own little piece of F1 history

NEWS STORY

This weekend sees the second auction of Paul Stoddart's amazing collection of F1 memorabilia.

Now, normally when one thinks of memorabilia one thinks of programmes, bits of cars, team issue clothing and various other nick-nacks.

Well Paul has all this, and much, much more up for grabs.

There are 22 formula One cars for sale, including a BAR 199 (1999), Arrows A23 (2002), Minardis from 1990 to 2003 and Tyrrells from between 1991 and 1997.

There are engines and a whole range of other car bits, including two sets of Benetton exhausts used by Michael Schumacher in his first Championship Winning season.

There are wind tunnel models, Hot Wheel models (signed by Jos and others), race suits, mechanic suits, flight cases, T-Shirts, pin badges, paintings, prints, race seats, spark plugs, timing equipment and lots, lots more.

In all honesty, there is so much stuff up for grabs, the Pitpass team got tired going through the list... there's that much, and everyone is bound to find at least one thing that they'd love to own.

Let's not forget, this year sees the end of Minardi, therefore this is your chance to get some genuine F1 memorabilia before it ends up in the hands of dealers who will sell it on to you a few years down the line for ten times the price they paid. Cut out the middle-man... register for the auction on-line or go down to Ledbury this weekend, where Paul will be in attendance as will Robert Doornbos (Saturday) and Christijan Albers (Sunday).

Ever wanted one of those coffee tables made from an old F1 tyre... well here's your chance to get hold of the tyre, and not one of the new 'girly' grooved efforts... these are the big Goodyear beauties.

The auction takes place this weekend at Minardi's Ledbury HQ, starting at 10:30 each day. However, you can also bid on-line, courtesy of auctioneers Bache Treharne. All you have to do is complete a simple registration form.

You might not think you can afford anything, but you'll be surprised how available some of these items are. Don't end up kicking yourself in a few years time, wishing you'd made the effort, go along or register on-line now, and get yourself some real - and rather poignant - F1 history.

The only thing we couldn't find in the auction is Paul's well-thumbed copy of the Concorde Agreement... maybe he's simply worn it out.

Happy bidding!
