Finally, some good news for British F1 fans

Having opted to deprived British F1 fans of live coverage of live qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, British broadcaster ITV has secured a special deal with Bernie Ecclestone to show live coverage of this weekend's session at Indianapolis.

The bad news however is that the coverage will only be shown on ITV2, therefore only available to viewers with digital coverage.

ITV was already in British F1 fans' bad books following its astonishing decision to cut to an advertising break during the closing laps of the San Marino Grand Prix, thereby depriving fans of the epic battle between Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher.

Then, having led the campaign against the previous two-day qualifying format, the British broadcaster opted to show the Canadian qualifying session five hours after it had actually taken place.

However, ITV clearly shot itself in the foot - not for the first time - since Briton Jenson Button took pole position.
