No Speed-y decision for Scott

Thanks to the typical British weather, American Scott Speed will have to wait until Friday to learn if he will drive the third car on the Friday of the forthcoming Canadian and United States Grands Prix.

The youngster was due to run today at Silverstone, in order that the team could further evaluate him. However, due to the atrocious conditions it was decided to delay his test - and thereby the decision - until Friday.

With an American (driver) presence conspicuous by its absence - since Michael Andretti's ill-fated outings with McLaren in 1993 - there is great interest in the youngster, who is currently running second in the GP2 series.

F1 supremo, Bernie Ecclestone, would no doubt be keen to see Speed in the Red Bull, especially in light of the publicity that IRL is attracting, courtesy of Danica Patrick.
