An FIA source has confirmed to Pitpass, that it is almost certain that the qualifying format will be changed before next weekend's race at the Nurburgring.

All ten team have agreed to change to the revised format with "immediate effect".

The 'new' format would see just one session - lasting sixty minutes - in which each driver would run one timed lap. The drivers would run in the same order as they currently do on Saturday, in reverse order to how they finished in the previous race - therefore the winner of this weekend's Monaco GP, would be last out at the Nurburgring.

The cars would go out with the fuel load with which they intend starting the race with, no refuelling, or indeed any other modifications, allowed between the Saturday session and the race.

For the format change to get the rubber stamp there will be a fax vote which must be returned to the FIA by next Wednesday (May 25).

If all ten are still in agreement, the revised format will be introduced next weekend.

Woo-Hoo!
