Speaking in the wake of the decision of the Court of Appeal in Paris, FIA president Max Mosley said that in his opinion, BAR got off lightly.

Just moments after the Brackley outfit was informed that it will lose its 10 points from the San Marino Grand Prix, and be excluded from both the Spanish and Monaco events, Mosley told reporters: "Under the circumstances, we feel they have been treated rather leniently.

"The facts in this case are very clear," he continued. "The team was asked to pump the fuel out of their car. They left 15 litres in the tank and told us it was empty."

The Brackley outfit is already in Barcelona, preparing for tomorrow's first free practice sessions. It's understood that the transporters will begin the journey back to England early this evening.
