Despite fears that this week's planned test at Barcelona might be cancelled, the result of problems encountered following the track's relaying over the Christmas break, four teams are currently in action.

Antonio Pizzonia and Mark Webber are on duty for WilliamsF1, whilst Toyota has Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli on duty.

David Coulthard and Vitantonio Liuzzi are on duty for Red Bull, while reigning world champion, Michael Schumacher, returns to the cockpit for the first time since Brazil in October.

By mid-morning, pace-setter Pizzonia was running in the 1:19.5s bracket, around 4.5s off the 2004 pole time.
