Barcelona test in doubt

NEWS STORY

This week's test at Barcelona looks likely to be cancelled, as the newly resurfaced track is proving to be too slippery, and tyre manuafacturers and teams believe the test would not be of any benefit.

Following the total resurfacing of the track, it appears that oil is seeping through to the surface making the track too slippery for any worthwhile testing.

Ferrari, WilliamsF1, Sauber, Renault, Toyota and Red Bull, were all scheduled to attend the test, as was BAR, which launched its 2005 car at the Spanish track today.

With seven weeks to go before the start of the season, and track time at a premium, it's beleived that the test may switch to Valencia, though no final decision has yet been made.
