Despite rumours of a dispute with Ferrari over money, Luca Badoer has signed a new two-year contract with the Italian outfit.

The former F3000 champion has been with Ferrari since 1997, as is credited as having played a major part in the team's revival, having driven thousands of test miles developing the Maranello team's cars.

The contract, which covers 2005 and 2006, sees Badoer named as third driver, which ranks him above Marc Gene.

"I hope we continue to enjoy as much success as we have," said the Italian.
