No decision on Red Bull drivers

Although Red Bull Racing's Tony Purnell and David Pitchforth were in a talkative mood at yesterday's Christmas lunch, neither was in a position to give even the slightest hint as to the team's driver line-up in 2005.

Despite persistent questioning, neither Purnell nor Pitchforth was able to give any indication, and it looks as though we may have to wait until the launch of the RB1 on February 7, if not longer, before we know who will drive the two Austrian cars.

The team admitted to being impressed with Coulthard, who took part in last week's test at Jerez, and hasn't ruled out the possibility of the Scot testing again.

That said, several of the journos present, including Pitpass editor Chris Balfe, were pushing the case for Davidson and Liuzzi, and though Pitchforth claimed that hiring a driver with Coulthard's experience was a "no brainer", the final decision appears to rest with Red Bull boss, Dietrich Mateschitz.
