In a short statement issued this afternoon, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone admitted that he is delighted that a deal has been concluded which will see the British Grand Prix remain on the calendar, at Silverstone, until 2009.
"I am extremely happy that with the help of Ray Bellm of the BRDC, we have reached a five-year agreement with Silverstone," it read.
The terms of the agreement will remain confidential.
The official 2005 World Championship calendar will be announced on Friday.
