As the news filter through from the High Court, there will be quite a few 'blazers' in the BRDC clubhouse at Silverstone giggling into their Gin and Tonics.

"Serves the bugger right," will be the general feeling amongst the members, "cheeky bloody upstart".

However, Ecclestone's battle with the banks hasn't taken his eye fully off the ball as far as the British Grand Prix is concerned.

With just a couple of days to go before the FIA World Council meets in Monaco, Ecclestone has warned that Silverstone has 48-hours to resolve its problems if it is to be on the 2005 calendar.

The dispute, which centres on the amount of money the BRDC is willing to pay Ecclestone, in addition to the length of the contract, is about to reach a head, with Ecclestone warning that unless the issue is resolved by Thursday, Britain will be missing from the Formula One calendar for the first time since the championship began, ironically at Silverstone, in 1950.
