Brand Synergy looking at Jaguar?

According to reports, Brand Synergy, having apparently given up on the British Grand Prix, is now looking at the possibility of buying the Jaguar team, and is understood to be preparing to make a bid.

The company first came to prominence a couple of weeks ago when it made public its desire to assist in the Silverstone debacle. Little is known of the company, other than the fact that former world champion Nigel Mansell has "close links".

After its initial announcement, things went very quiet again, until company director, Kim Cockburn, told the BBC of a grand plan to save Silverstone and secure the future of the British Grand Prix.

Brand Synergy's vision of a £1bn project that would take Silverstone into the 21st century was handed in to the British Racing Drivers' Club, owners of Silverstone, only for the outfit to fade back into the background again.

Now, Brand Synergy is said to be making a "secret bid" to purchase Jaguar - which should be an absolute doddle if the group really has access to £1bn.
