Just weeks after Toyota announced that it would not be able to supply customer engines in 2005, thereby scuppering Jordan's hopes following Ford's decision to pull the plug on Cosworth, the Japanese manufacturer has done a total about-turn.
Speaking at Interlagos, Toyota boss John Howett admitted that his company would be prepared to supply engines to one of the smaller teams - at an estimated cost of around £8m - however the deal would need to be concluded as soon as possible.
However, it's thought that both Minardi and Jordan will opt to keep an eye on the situation at Cosworth.
