There are unconfirmed reports that another F1 team is to make its debut in 2006, alongside Midland F1.

According to unconfirmed reports a team called Team Dubai F1 has issued a statement claiming that it will enter F1 in 2006.

Furthermore its claimed that, like Midland F1, the team will be built from scratch and will be based in the UK.

It's understood that the people behind Team Dubai F1, had considered buying an existing team, but finally decided against it. That said, it claims to have entered negotiations with both McLaren and Mercedes-Benz with regards technical assistance and possibly an engine supply.

Dubai already has an impressive race track which is up to F1 standard, while Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum, a member of the Dubai royal family, is the driving force behind A1 Grand Prix, which gets underway next year.

Earlier this year, Jenson Button's manager, John Byfield, was linked with Grand Prix Investments, which was said to be putting together a consortium with the intention of purchasing Jordan. However, despite constant claims that the deal was imminent, the story eventually went quiet.

Furthermore, both of the new F1 teams insist on making their bases in the UK, only months after teams such as Jordan and BAR had warned that teams would have to move out of the UK in order to 'get around' certain European Union laws, including the imminent tobacco ban.

There is still much mystery surrounding Team Dubai F1, as we get more, we'll let you know.
