Schumacher not about to retire

NEWS STORY

From the moment Michael Schumacher announced that he was told a press conference at Monza on Wednesday, the first day of testing after the August ban, various sections of the media have been getting their 'knickers into a twist' speculating that the German is about to announce his retirement.

The simple truth is that having won his seventh World Championship title on Sunday, the Ferrari star wishes to talk to the media.

Sunday, no matter that the German had secured the title, was Kimi Raikkonen's day, and Schumacher had no intention of stealing the Finn's limelight.

No doubt Michael will thank the team, the sponsors, his manager, his wife, children and even the dogs, but don't expect any talk of hanging up helmets and a life of cosy weekends spent watching F1 on TV.

Therefore those of you expecting the German to move quietly aside in favour of the 'new order' (et tu Brutus), will simply have to grin and bear it, and face up to the prospect of further wins and titles.
