Liuzzi to Sauber?

It's understood that F3000 'hot-shot' Vitantonio Liuzzi had a meeting with Peter Sauber on Thursday.

The Italian, who is romping away with the 2004 F3000 championship, has been linked with a number of teams in recent months, including Ferrari. However, speaking in the wake of the Hungarian GP, Jean Todt said that he was not currently looking at any particular driver.

Earlier this week, Sauber admitted that he was looking for a "young, wild driver rather than an experienced racer," which one would have thought applied to current incumbent Felipe Massa, but could of course equally apply to Liuzzi.

A couple of seasons spent serving an apprenticeship with Sauber, might be exactly what Jean Todt has in mind, as he prepares for the inevitable day when Michael Schumacher announces his retirement.
