Oliver Turvey took to the track at Silverstone today, thereby rekindling the legendary partnership between McLaren and Honda.

The Briton took to the track in an upgraded MP4-29 (MP4-29H) complete with Honda V6 power unit as part of a day dedicated to 'private filming'.

Turvey's brief but historic run, whilst signalling the forthcoming end of a twenty year partnership with Mercedes, sees McLaren and Honda reunited for the first time since 1992.

Between 1988 and 1992 McLaren-Honda won 4 Constructors' Championships, 4 drivers' titles, one with Alain Prost and three with Ayrton Senna, 44 grands prix, 53 pole positions and 30 fastest laps... in just 80 outings.

The test run, strictly limited to 100km, comers before the car makes its full test debut at Abu Dhabi at the end of the month.
