Adrian Sutil has been handed a grid penalty following an incident during today's qualifying session.

The Sauber driver appeared to be racing Romain Grosjean in the final moments of Q1, blocking the Frenchman and at one point forcing him off track.

The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, hearing from the drivers and team representatives and examined video and audio evidence, ruled that Sutil forced Grosjean off the track between turns 13 and 14 in an unsafe manner, a breach of Article 16.1 e) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

In addition to handing the Sauber driver a five-place grid penalty, he was given 2 penalty points on his licence.

The German, who qualified 18th, now moves to the very back of the grid alongside Max Chilton.

Grosjean, who still managed to make the cut into Q2 was subsequently eliminated and will start form 15th on the grid.
