Caterham has revealed that its 2014 contender will be unveiled at Jerez on the morning of the first pre-season test.

Earlier this week, Lotus Technical Director, Nick Chester, revealed that his team will skip the opening test and unveil the E22 in Bahrain three weeks later. "We’re going to keep our car under wraps a little longer than some other teams,"£ he said. "We’ve decided that attending the Jerez test isn’t ideal for our build and development programme."

While Mercedes will roll out its car at Jerez on 28 January - the same day as Caterham - McLaren is opting for an on-line unveiling a few days earlier (24 Jan).

Caterham has yet to confirm its 2014 line-up, indeed asked whether its drivers will be attending a motorsport exhibition in Birmingham this weekend, the team responded "what drivers?"

"We'll be at all three tests," the team later tweeted, "in Spain (T01) & Bahrain (T02 / T03) & we'll unveil the 2014 car on the morning of T01 day one, 28 Jan."

After three seasons in F1, and yet to score a point, Caterham is hoping to take a step forward under the new rules, especially after being beaten to tenth in the 2013 constructor standings by Marussia.
