We have a winner

NEWS STORY

We are delighted to announce that we finally have a winner following our recent Australian Grand Prix competition.

Before we reveal the winner's name we should point out that we always contact winners before announcing their details, that and checking that they haven't submitted multiple entries.

In the case of the recent Australian Grand Prix, twenty of those that entered correctly predicted that Kimi Raikkonen would lead home Fernando Alonso. However, of those twenty, only two predicted that there would be eighteen finishers.

The two names went into a hat and the winner was duly notified. Having heard nothing despite several successive emails we sent one final notification at which point we were informed that the winner didn't want the beautiful Amalgam 1:1 scale 2012 Mercedes steering wheel as they were under the impression the prize was actually a real steering wheel. (Then again, according to media claims Lewis Hamilton didn't want a Mercedes steering wheel either!)

Consequently, the prize has gone to the other entrant who correctly predicted that there would be eighteen finishers, and who is only too delighted to receive this superb prize, step forward Peter Strangis of Victoria in Australia... so at least one of our Colonial cousins has good reason to celebrate F1 this week.

Congratulations Peter.

There will be another competition very soon, so watch this space.
