NEWS STORY

In the wake of the sale of a pair of Ayrton Senna race gloves to Lotus owner Gerard Lopez for £22K, our partners at Memento Exclusives have a few other items of interest relating to the Brazilian legend.

First off there's the Toleman TG184-2 F1 car, designed by Rory Byrne and Pat Symonds and used by Toleman Motorsport during most of the 1984 season.

Ayrton Senna used this car and stunned the crowd at a very wet Monaco GP where he came up from a starting position of 13th to lead the race and finish 2nd behind Alain Prost in the much more competitive McLaren MP4/2. This performance in the Toleman took the racing world by surprise and still lives on in the memory of many F1 fans as the best opening season for a rookie.

Senna used this actual car in 1984 season, taking it to 2nd (& fastest lap) in Monaco and 3rd at Silverstone.

This car is complete and features the Hart 1.5 straight 4 Turbo engine (This engine would require a rebuild before running). It also features Suspension (front) double wishbones, pull-rod actuated coil springs over dampers. Suspension (rear) double wishbones, push-rod actuated coil springs over dampers. More details here.

Then there's a 1987 Lotus 99T Main Engine Cover. The Lotus 99T was designed by Gerard Ducarouge for Lotus for use in the 1987 season. This engine cover is from Senna's actual Lotus 99T race car and it has been used on track.

The Lotus 99T car gave Senna two race wins during the season, one at the Monaco Grand Prix and the other at the Detroit Grand Prix. This is the main engine cover from Ayrton Senna's car which extends from the front nose all the way to behind the engine mount. This piece is extremely rare and a once in a life time opportunity to own a piece of Ayrton's racing history. More details here.

1988 was the year that Senna joined McLaren-Honda with his dynamic teammate Alain Prost. Between them they won fifteen out of the sixteen Grands Prix; with Senna claiming his first World Championship.

This limited edition Bell helmet is a replica of Senna's 1988 design and has been hand signed on the visor by Ayrton Senna himself. The helmet is sold including a display case and base to protect it from dust and fading. More details here.

Nigel Mansell has personally signed this iconic photograph entitled 'Taxi For Senna', which captures one of the most memorable moments in F1 history.

The British Grand Prix in 1991 saw a tough encounter between Mansell and Senna, with the British driver taking the victory. On the final lap of the race, Ayrton's car broke down, forcing him to retire a distance from the pit lane. Step in Nigel Mansell to give Ayrton the most famous lift of all time.

The print is hand signed by Mansell and will be framed up in a nice black frame and acid free double mount, it will also have a Perspex front as glass would break in transit. More details here.

Finally, Colin Carter is a world famous motorsport artist who produces the finest paintings for some of the world's most famous MotoGP and F1 drivers.

In this canvas giclee print he has captured Nigel Mansell giving Ayrton Senna a lift at the 1991 British Grand Prix beautifully. The canvas is of the highest quality and is signed by Colin Carter along with its edition number which is limited to 500 pieces world wide. This canvas is a stunning 4ft x 3ft and will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity. More details here.
