Whilst the majority of the F1 world gathers in Australia for the first race of the season, one of the biggest developments in the business of the sport is taking place behind the scenes back in Europe.

Pitpass is not currently at liberty to disclose the details of what is underway for the sport but suffice it to say that it will be one of the most important changes to the commercial landscape of Formula One in its history and although it is something which has been much talked about it has never before been put into motion.

It is another master-stroke from F1's boss Bernie Ecclestone and some of the sport's most important stakeholders. Indeed it would be fair to say that it is one of the most positive steps taken in cementing the structure and relationships at the heart of F1.

Let's just say that the development could affect F1 fans around the world and ultimately allow them easier access to the sport at a time when they need it most. Even the teams are likely to be flattered by it.

Pitpass readers will of course get in-depth analysis on the news as soon as we get the green light. Cryptic as this may seem, make no bones about it, when the news breaks soon you will know what we are referring to. That is when you will be able to say with confidence that you read it here first.
