Celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of it foundation, braking system manufacturer Brembo marked the occasion at Monza.

A ceremony was held on Sunday morning at the Formula One Management motorhome attended by the F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, a number of drivers and team bosses.

Since it entered F1 in 1975, the Italian company has been committed to the research and development of innovative and technological products offering high performance but also guaranteeing maximum reliability and safety.

To date it has achieved more than 200 Grand Prix wins, 16 drivers' championships and 21 constructors' titles with Ferrari, McLaren-Honda, Benetton-Renault, Red Bull and Brawn GP.

To mark the occasion, company president Alberto Bombassei gave Ecclestone a braking system personalized with the colours of the Italian flag and inscribed with the tribute: "To have given prestige to Formula One in these years and have allowed Brembo to grow together with this championship, becoming the supplier of the majority of the teams."

Note Mark Webber's unbridled joy in the accompanying photograph... it's as if he knew what was coming a couple of hours later.
