Sauber excluded from Australian GP results

A technical infringement has seen Sauber excluded from today's Australian Grand Prix.

Inspected after the race it was deemed both cars failed to adhere to articles 3.10.1 and 3.10.2 of the technical regulations which relate to the rear wing, and were subsequently excluded.

Sauber had enjoyed a fruitful day's racing with Kamui Kobayashi scoring four points for eighth while debutant Sergio Perez is stripped of his seventh place finish and the six points that go with it.

In the revised standings both Force India drivers score points, with Adrian Sutil promoted to ninth and Paul Di Resta to tenth. Felipe Massa also benefits, moving from ninth to seventh behind Jenson Button.

Writing on Twitter. Force India team boss Vijay Mallya said: "Both Sauber's disqualified so both Force India Cars finish in the points - 9th and 10th at the Australian Grand Prix !! Cheers !!"
