Fernando Alonso remains convinced that his team can still win the 2010 world championship.

Indeed, those were his words as he took the chequered flag at the end of Sunday's British Grand Prix - the first time that Ferrari has failed to score a single point in a race since last year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

"OK guys, keep your heads up. We will win the championship," he told his team over the radio having just posted the fastest lap of the race.

"We are only halfway through the season and there is plenty of time to recover. We have a great car and we proved that to everyone this weekend and confirmed it with this fastest race lap. It is only the first half and we know we have to do better in the second one and we will do exactly that."

Having suffered during a safety car period for the second successive race, this time around the Spaniard wisely opted to remain calm and not hit out at the stewards who had penalised him for an incident involving Robert Kubica.

However, while Alonso chose to remain silent, team boss Domenicali voiced his anger and frustration after a race that promised much but delivered nothing.

"We are angry that we did not get the results which we were capable of delivering," he said, "but this anger must be turned into a positive force. We just have to knuckle down and continue with the development of the car, working calmly, with great concentration and determination. Then, the results will come."
