While nobody appears willing to reveal why Bruno Senna has been dropped for this weekend's British Grand Prix, Hispania has issued a statement announcing that the Brazilian will be back in the car for the remainder of the season.

News of the Brazilian being dropped first broke yesterday evening, however, there was no official word from the team and even Senna's own Twitter page appeared to suggest that all was normal.

Colin Kolles subsequently confirmed that the Brazilian had been dropped and while unwilling to comment further said that a statement would be issued today.

Shortly after the end of this morning's practice session Hispania did indeed issue a statement, however, other than confirming that Senna would be back in the car for the remainder of the season it didn't shed any light on why he was dropped for this race.

While some are suggesting money issues, the failure of either Senna or the team to shed any light on the matter is sure to lead to speculation especially on the message boards and fora.

The statement issued by Hispania this afternoon reads: "In respect to the rumours about Bruno Senna's current status with Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team, the team wants to confirm that Bruno Senna has all the support of the Spanish team, that he remains one of the Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team official drivers and that he will be continuing to drive in the remaining races of the 2010 Formula 1 world championship."

With Hispania claiming that it wanted to give Sakon Yamamoto "an opportunity" this weekend, some might even claim that Kolles and the team are merely giving the Japanese driver the ultimate birthday present, today being his 28th birthday.
