Toro Rosso has officially announced that 4-time Champ Car World Champion Sebastien Bourdais has driven his last race for the Italian team.

In a brief statement issued this morning, Franz Tost said: "In Sebastien's second year with us, the partnership has not met our expectations and therefore we have decided to replace him as from the next round of the World Championship, the Hungarian Grand Prix."

While the team says that "an announcement about his replacement will be made shortly before the Hungarian Grand Prix", it is widely known that Spanish hot-shot Jaime Alguersuari will get the drive, the 2008 British F3 Championship winner due to test the STR4 today at Vairano. However, due to the new rules which see in-season testing banned, the 19-year-old will merely complete a number of straight-line runs.
