The 2008 GP2 Asia Championship winds up today and tomorrow in Dubai with six drivers still fighting for second and third in the Drivers' Championship.

This morning's Free Practice session saw the top nine drivers all running for different teams. Behind the 2008 GP2 Asia Series Winner, Luca Filippi from Qi-Meritus Mahara finished second quickest with a a 1:42.069, closely followed by DAMS Kamui Kobayashi, iSport's Karun Chandhok and Vitaly Petrov at the wheel of his Barwa International Campos Team car.

The Japanese driver and the Russian both need a strong performance at the Dubai Autodrome should they want to claim the runner-up spot in the Championship.

Not too far behind was Adrian Valles - who can also finish in the Top 3 on Sunday - who posted the sixth fastest time in his FMS car, ahead of Jason Tahinci, earning his best performance of the season so far at the wheel of his BCN Competicion car.

Next up were Durango's Davide Valsecchi, Trust Team Arden's Sebastien Buemi and Hiroki Yoshimoto, Filippi's teammate. The Swiss driver currently stands 3rd in the drivers' championship. His closest rivals, Fairuz Fauzy and Bruno Senna, both failed to enter the Top 10 this morning.
