According to the London Gazette, the official journal in which statutory notices are required to be published, former Jaguar boss, Tony Purnell (right), now working with the FIA as a Technical Consultant, has served a petition to wind up BusinessF1 Magazine Ltd.

In April, the Court of Appeal upheld the award of £75,000 for damages made to Purnell in his claim for libel against BusinessF1 magazine and its editor Tom Rubython. Previously, Rubython and BusinessF1 had appealed the award, recommended by the Jury in May 2006 claiming the original trial jury should have been directed not to include any sum for vindication in their damages award.

On winning the appeal, and thereby the £75,000, Purnell confirmed that he would pay any proceeds from the claim to an educational charity established in honour of the late Harvey Postlethwaite.

Now, according to the London Gazette, Purnell has served a petition to wind up BusinessF1 Magazine Ltd.

The case will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on 5 September.
