Valencia Councilor and Transport Minister, Mario Flores, has unveiled plans for the street circuit that will host a round of the World Championship next year.

Work will begin in October and the circuit should be ready by next June.

Presenting the plans, Flores said: "This will open Valencia to the sea even more than before because the designed road network of the city will be used in the circuit and because of that Valencia will have the most modern street circuit in the world and it will be achieved with a neutral cost for the citizens.

He insists that the work will have negative impact on the city and its inhabitants: "The works of the new circuit won't have any kind of impact in the city, it will be very good because its construction allows us to accelerate the urbanization of this area. With the selected design we have achieved a street circuit, as safe as a permanent one, and integrated it into the city to show the beauty of the city and its position as balcony to the sea."

He said that the race will be seen by over 500 million race fans across the world and will bring over 70 million euros to the city.

The 5.473 km track (3.4 miles), features 25 turns, 11 right-handers and 14 left-handers. It's estimated that top speeds will reach 323 kmph, with an average speed of 201.3 kmph. The estimated lap time is 1m 37s.
