As widely predicted, Michael Ammermuller (right) has been dropped for this weekend's GP2 event at the Nurburgring, his home race.

The German, who is also test driver for the Red Bull F1 team, has had a torrid season thus far, missing several races due to an early-season wrist injury. To make matters worse, the drivers that replaced him - Mikhail Aleshin at Barcelona and Sebastien Buemi at Monaco - have both achieved better results.

Consequently, Red Bull and ART Grand Prix have agreed to replace Ammermuller with Buemi this weekend, the Swiss driver having made a sensational GP2 debut in Monaco when he qualified fourth.

Elsewhere, Ernesto Viso, who was involved in a horrific accident at Magny-Cours three weeks ago, and was replaced by Filipe Albuquerque at Silverstone, is hoping to be cleared to return to the second Racing Engineering car.
